Lagos Releases 253 Endsars Protest Suspects

The Lagos State Bureau of The Public Defender (BPD) acting on the legal advice issued by the Office of the Lagos State Attorney General that exonerated 253 EndSARS protest suspects, has swiftly began the process of assisting the detained suspects to regaining freedom from the Police facility and Correctional Centres in the State. This followed the release warrants obtained by the Lagos State Bureau of The Public Defender from Ogba Magistrate and Yaba Magistrate Courts respectively based on the legal advice release from the Office of the
Attorney General exonerating the suspects which made it possible for BPD to assist in the release of 7 and 31 EndSARS protest suspects from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti and Kirikiri Medium Correctional Centre respectively, on the 12th November 2020, 2 from female correctional, 27 from kirikiri meduim and 32 from kirikiri maximum were also released. Following this development, Lagos State Bureau of The Public Defender (BPD), would ensure that all suspects detained and exonerated by the Office of the State Attorney General regain their freedom as BPD will visit all the Police detention centres and Correctional Centres in the state to effect their release accordingly.
